To this end, the university designs made-to-measure lifelong learning training courses and offers VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) and VAPP (Validation of Professional and Personal Skills) programmes for most of its degrees.
Lifelong learning
Lifelong learning concerns employees, job seekers, entrepreneurs and graduates. It allows you to improve your skills and adapt to new technologies, practices or methods applied in the company. It also allows for retraining for a change in career. Most of Gustave Eiffel University’s courses are available as lifelong learning courses.

Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE)
Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) is a universal right provided for by the French Decree of 2002. It allows you to obtain recognition of your professional or extra-professional experience in order to complete all or part of a degree, diploma or professional qualification.
All Gustave Eiffel University’s courses, including PhDs, are available as VAE programmes.

Validation of Personal and Professional Skills (VAPP)
The Validation of Personal and Professional Skills (VAPP) scheme allows you to access a university course without the diploma normally required thanks to your professional or personal experience. For example, your professional or personal experience may enable you to enrol on a course normally only accessible after four years of higher education (BAC+4).
