Lifelong learning

What is lifelong learning ?

Lifelong learning concerns people who have entered working life and have left initial training (studies). This type of training allows people who are already working to continue their education to improve their skills and adapt to new technologies, practices or methods applied in the company. It also allows for retraining for a change in career.

Who is lifelong learning for ?

Anyone who has to finance their training for the following reasons is covered by lifelong learning :

  • Because they have enrolled in a training course (DUT, Bachelor’s degree, professional Bachelor’s degree, Master's degree or engineering degree) and must justify their presence in the establishment by a financing agreement between the university and their company or a financing body (company, Transition Pro, OPCO, Pôle Emploi, etc.).
  • Because they have enrolled in a training course open exclusively to lifelong learning. In this case, the person has to have the course financed by a third party or pay for it themselves.

An applicant admitted to lifelong learning is said to be a trainee in vocational training.

Diploma for access to university studies (DAEU)

Applicants admitted to the Diploma for access to university studies (DAEU) are considered as trainees in vocational training. They must be over 20 years of age and have interrupted their studies for 2 years or more.
