A Week Dedicated to Welcoming International Students

Every year at the start of the academic year, Université Gustave Eiffel dedicates a week to its newly arrived international students. Held during the first week of September, the G-FLE Week (Gustave – French as a Foreign Language) allows them to explore the university, the French language, and the culture of the country where they will live and study.

During this week, students take part in French classes, activities and cultural visits, helping them find their feet while meeting other international students. In 2026, the programme included among other things, a guided boat tour of Paris along the Seine, offering students the opportunity to discover the capital and its heritage.

This focus on welcoming international students is part of Université Gustave Eiffel’s broader international outlook. It is reflected, in particular, in the “Bienvenue en France” label, which recognises institutions committed to providing a high quality of welcome and support for international students.

This commitment to progress and sharing best practices will continue in May 2027 with the organization of a Staff Week dedicated to welcoming international students. Professionals from several institutions will be invited to discuss this topic, share their experiences, and work together to identify ways to further improve the welcome and support provided to international students.
