BORN IN ... PPM exhibition on the issue of global warming

From March 25 to April 5, the Université Gustave Eiffel is hosting the photography exhibition BORN IN ... PPM, focusing on global warming, in the Salon d'Honneur of the Georges Perec University Library.

BORN IN ... PPM is a series of portraits initiated by Mary-Lou Mauricio to be discovered on borninppm.com. Participants pose with the CO2 concentration (expressed in PPM, Parts Per Million) of their year of birth as a sign of mobilization against the ever-increasing combustion of fossil fuels and to denounce climate injustice. It also illustrates the rapid human-scale increase in CO2 in the atmosphere.

In 2023, staff and students at the Université Gustave Eiffel took part in this photographic project at two events (L'Eco-Festival, the university's eco-responsible event, and Rentr'Eiffel, the students' back-to-school event).

The 'Born in PPM' exhibition presents these portraits, accompanied by soundscapes created by students from UFR LACT's Music masters program, reflecting the feelings of university staff and students in the face of climate change.

To mark the launch of the Eco-Festival 2024 on April 2, there will be a conference on the exhibition with Mary-Lou Mauricio from 3 to 4 pm in the Amphitheatre of the Bibliothèque Universitaire Georges Perec. This conference will be followed by a vernissage from 4pm to 5pm. Reserve your seats here.
